Yule 2021

Yule 2021 squareSaturday December 18, 2021

Joy!

Held IN-PERSON, with Rev. Selena Fox's workshop also live-streamed.

Yule is when the dark half of the year relinquishes to the light half of the year.  Every sunrise, the sun climbs just a bit higher and stays a little longer in the sky each day.  Known as Solstice Night, or the longest night of the year, the Sun’s rebirth was celebrated with joy!  Come join your community and celebrate all kinds of Joy during this Yuletide season and days to come.

Wishing Trees with Rev. Sharon
Together, we will create our own personal pinecone Wishing Tree.  We’ll construct these intentionally with other elements of the season then fill it with our personal wishes to bring us, our community, our families, and the world Joy in this coming year.  Our Wishing Trees will be burnt in our Solstice Ritual Fire so our wishes will be carried to the universe on its smoke.

2 pm

Celebrating Winter Solstice with Rev. Selena Fox
Explore some ways that Winter Solstice has been celebrated across cultures and through the ages.  Consider some possibilities for your own personal and household Winter Solstice Eve and Day celebrations this year.  If possible, bring a bell or some jingle bells to ring.

This workshop will be live-streamed, for those who can't join us in person.  CLICK HERE to register for the livestream.  This workshop is included with in-person festival registration.

3:30 pm

Gift Exchange
What a better way to bring joy to each other than a gift exchange!  Bring a new gift, bring a recycled gift!  Give a gift to get a gift!

Yule Community Ritual with Heather
Yule and Solstice are traditionally filled with Joy. Let us close our Yule celebration with a ritual of joy. Be prepared to share what’s brought you joy in the past, what has brought you joy this celebration day and what will bring you joy as wheel turns. There will be introspection and dancing and singing. Please bring a candle in a votive holder as there will be fire!
