A Season for Sharing
Join the Circle Sanctuary community as we celebrate the Winter Solstice. Yule is traditionally a time for sharing food and drink, storytelling and music, traditions and lore, and celebration of the community we all share. Yule is also traditionally a time for family, and we encourage bringing children of all ages! We encourage families to participate together in our activities.

Cookie and Ornament Decorating for All Ages with Florence and Hollis
What conjures up Yuletide feelings more than the mouthwatering smell of baking cookies? We’re channeling the season with a group cookie decorating project—with a bit of spell work thrown in for good measure! Decorate cookies to devour on the spot or take home as a gift for friends. Also, decorate and charge a cookie ornament to bring the spirit of Yule into your home. Families and households are encouraged to work together to decorate your cookies.

Nature Walk with Reed
Explore the land on a guided walk with Circle Sanctuary naturalist Reed. Please remember it is December, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

12 pm

Soup (including a vegetarian/GF option) will be provided mid-day. Please bring donations of breads, non-refrigerated desserts, and other snacks to supplement the soup. Please NO food that has peanuts in it.

1 pm

Winter Solstice Goddesses with Rev. Selena Fox
Sharing lore, traditions, and magic of some Maiden, Mother, and Crone Goddesses linked with Winter Solstice time, including the Sun Maiden (Sweden), Corn Mother (Mexico), and Gift bringer Witch Crone (Italy). This workshop is intended for adults and older teenagers.

A Gift to the Land: Birdseed Ornament Crafting for Families with Florence and Hollis
During Yule, we give thanks for the plenty that we enjoy and remember those in our community who are struggling through the cold times. We include the land and creatures around us within our community. Together, with both adults and children, we will craft offering ornaments out of birdseed and natural materials and then walk on the land to hang our gifts and offer them as a gift to the land and creatures of Circle Sanctuary. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult or older teen and families will work together to craft and present our gifts.

2:30 pm

Community Gifting for All Ages with Heather
Gift Giving is a traditional part of Yule and we’ll celebrate together with a gift exchange for adults and teens, and a gifting for the children.

Adults and teenagers 13 and above, please bring a magical gift that is meaningful to you and non-gender specific, wrapped, and with a card with your name. (For those who like to operate on a more last-minute timescale, we’ll have a selection of gifting options, along with gift-wrap available for purchase in the Resource Shop.)

For children ages 12 and under, we’ll have a visit from a special Yuletide gift-bringer with presents for all the children. Parents and caregivers, please be sure to pre-register your children so our gift-bringer knows how many presents to prepare!

3:30 pm

Yuletide Bards and Storytellers with Chris Eldridge aka The Roaming Gnome
Sharing music and stories is a traditional part of Yule festivities. Join Gnome and other community members as they share their bardic talents with us.

5 pm

Yule Ritual with Rev. Messina
Let us celebrate one another, friendship, family, and the returning Sun. We shall begin outdoors with the Yule log burning and continue our ritual in the Temple Room with a meditation on the gifts of the season, the joy of sharing, and blessing of the items donated for the food drive!

6:30 pm
