The Circle Sanctuary Community invites you to join us as we celebrate the Yuletide season.  It is another shift of the wheel, and though the days grow longer with the promise of Spring returning, the coldest days still lie ahead.

The 12 Days of Yule Workshops
Choose a group to join and learn about a set of 3-days of Yule and complete an activity that will be used later in the ritual. The Maiden Goddess will guide you through the first 3 days of Yule time, the Mother Goddess will honor the second set of 3 days of Yule time, the God will guide you through the 3rd set of 3 days and the Crone Goddess' wisdom will direct you through the last set of 3 days of Yule time.

Youth/Family Programming in the Farmhouse
Youth will learn the lore of the winter solstice and make a craft and learn a song honoring the return of the sun and longer days. 


Ugly Sweater Contest & Pageant
Everyone loves some fun, friendly competition! An ugly sweater contest if a fantastic way for you to show off that tacky sweater you've been saving for just the right occasion, or maybe you want to decorate your own sweater, or go thrift store shopping! Judging will take place in the following categories: most creative, the funniest, most original ugly sweater, funniest sweater with an animal on it, and best sweater with a Yule tree on it. Prizes will be awarded. Come strut your stuff at the Pageant!

Yule Wreath Lore & Magicwith Rev. Selena Fox
Explore ancient and contemporary Yule wreath traditions and take part in a community blessing of Yuletide Wreaths.

Youth/Family Programming in the Farmhouse
Our youth will also explore Yule wreath traditions and make wreath crafts. Youth will join in the blessing of the Yuletide Wreaths for Wreaths Across America.

2 pm

Wreaths Across America procession & placement in Circle Cemetery
Walk to our Green Cemetery and be part of the ceremonial placement of wreaths at gravesites of deceased veterans.

Days of Yule Ritual followed by Yule Log Burning

Community Feast
A feast in celebration of the returning light!

6 pm

Final Departures
We wish you and your family blessings of joy, happiness, and peace. Thank you for sharing your day with us.


Items to Bring:

  • 3 or more cans of food to donate to Circle’s annual food drive, benefitting the local food pantry
  • Pre-prepared snacks and sweets (cheese, meats, crackers, fruits, vegetables, chips, cookies, etc.) for mid-day snacking.
  • Your own mid-day lunch if you'd like one.
  • White votive candle or tea light in a jar or other holder, for use in ritual.
  • Crusty breads or desserts for the evening feast.  (Soups will be provided)
  • Drum, rattle, or other musical instrument if you have one.
  • Dress in holiday colors of red, white, and green if you'd like to!
  • Your ugly sweater for the Contest and Pageant.   The tackier the better!
