Back by popular demand, Welcome Fall will be an overnight event again this year!

From 11:30am on Saturday, September 20th through Noon on Sunday, September 21st

Old Tyme Community Harvest Faire: a Celebration of Hearth and Harvest
at Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve
near Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin

Circle Sanctuary's Welcome Fall festival is a celebration of the fall equinox and the second harvest in the form of a country faire! Come connect with the Earth and find the magic of the season through traditional craftways. There will also be a judging of volunteer pies, preserves, pickles, and breads in addition to a potluck meal.

 

SCHEDULE of EVENTS

Saturday, September 20th

11:30 am Gate opens for Arrivals - Old Tyme Community Harvest Faire
11:30 am

Faire Exhibit Hall is open for entries until 1 pm!
Categories are: Preserves, Baked Goods, and Fiber Crafts for adults.  Artwork (drawing, coloring, painting, crafting etc) for youth under 12 years of age.

Noon

Circle of Welcome
Circle Sanctuary's Welcome Fall festival is a celebration of the fall equinox and the second harvest in the form of and Old Tyme Country Faire!   Various activities throughout the day and evening will cater to the young and the young of heart.  Join in as we bless the festival and the faire goers!

12:15 pm

Sideshow Act
Josh B'Gosh will perform an amazing and dangerous sideshow act for all ages!  You won't want to miss his performances throughout the day!  http://www.joshbgosh.com/about.html

12:30 pm and running all afternoon

Near the house:  Cider Pressing with Naturalist Reed Cockrell. Bring your apples and containers and enjoy making your own apple cider with our press!

Barn Lounge:   Old time photo area with Bob & Georgette!  Bring your own costumes or borrow from the supply and get an individual or family photo of your magical self! Stir a cauldron, fly on a broom or just gather in your best garb!

Guided land tours by vehicle with Janus.  If walking this beautiful nature sanctuary is not an option for you, than now is your chance to see just what wonders exist!  Folks with limited mobility and a variety of physical challenges will get a riding tour of the land!  (Individuals must be able to transfer with assistance.)  Schedule will be announced.  Meet in lower parking lot.

Near the barn: Tarot readings with Oracle Alexandria. Bring your questions to the Oracle for insight & discussion with an experienced Tarot practitioner!

12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Tent #1:  Learn the art of Meadmaking  in this workshop with Mead Master Brad Allen. 

Barn Temple Room:  Crafting with Blodie.  Stop in the Temple Room and lend your hand in creating Elemental Banners that will be hung in the Temple Room.

Meadowvale:  Supervised games for the kids with Brooke!    There will also be games for the young at heart; horseshoes, bocce ball, etc.

1:45 pm - 2:45 pm

Tent #1:  Magic with Yarrow by Selena Fox.   Learn ways of identifying, harvesting, & working with Yarrow (Acheillia millifolium) for healing, love, protection, & divination.

Summer Kitchen: Facepainting with Colleen! 

Picnic Table Area: Knitting/spinning/weaving/crocheting/crafting circle. Bring your projects and sit a spell with like-minded folks!

Land Tours, Cider Pressings, Crafting & Old Time Photos continues.

3 pm

Snacks & Awards & more:
Join us at the exhibit hall for snacks while we announce the winners of the faire entries! Josh B'Gosh will close the faire with another of his amazing feats!

4 pm Gather at the barn for procession and ride assists to the community ritual at Stone Circle.
4:30 pm Ritual of Thanksgiving with Selena, Bo, Colleen & Others
The ritual will be held at the Stone Circle as we celebrate the second harvest.  Ride assists and seating at the ritual will be available.
5:30 pm Feast of Thanksgiving
Your preserves and baked good faire entries will be added to the menu for our Community Harvest Feast of Thanksgiving.  Root soup, breads, and more!
7 pm Departures for those just registered for the day
8 pm

Old Time Square Dance Hoedown!
Come as you are, or put on your best country costume, and join in on the fun as the Next-Gen Square Dancers and Caller come to teach us how to square dance!  (www.nexgen-sd.org) No experience necessary!  If you can't dance you can come watch, clap, and stomp your feet! It's sure to be a great time! Bring your own drinks and snacks to share!

Enjoy this walk around the land while you see, hear and enjoy the winged creatures of the land.
