Also known as Lammas or Lughnassadh, this is the ancient Celtic fire festival marking the height of Summer and the first reaping of the harvest.

FRIDAY, July 30
10 AM Merchant arrivals begin
11 AM Gate Opens
Noon Lammas Faire - visit booths with a variety of wares on the Green.
Noon - 1 PM Books & CDs signing with presenters.
Books & CDs available for sale & signature. Edain McCoy (Books) and Shibaten (CDs) at Presenters Booth. Fheargus (CDs) and Selena Fox (Books, CDs) at Circle Resource Shop.
2 - 2:30 PM Honoring Nature Spirits Rite with Selena Fox and Others.
This rite includes the honoring of Nature Spirits at Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve with offerings, words, & music by those of several spiritual traditions.
2:45 - 3:30 pm Sacred Mugwort Harvest with Selena Fox and Others.
Learn about the ritual uses of Mugwort & join in the harvest. Meet at the picnic tables. All ages welcome. Minors need to be accompanied & assisted by a parent or guardian.
4 - 5 PM Hawaiian Shamanism with Mari Powers.
Mari shares a Hawaiian shamanic tradition that is part of the Feri Tradition of Victor Anderson.
4 - 5 PM Shaman Walk (Youth) with Pheonix and Billy Crow.
Walk with us to the Fairy Shrine to connect with the Land Spirits and leave offerings for them.
5:30 - 6:30 PM Dinner - Served behind the Farm House
7 - 8 PM Festival Welcome & Green Ones Ritual
Connect with the magic of Lughassad & the power of Circle Sanctuary land. Bring dried herbs to cast into the bonfire. Wear green crowns if you wish.
8:30 - 10 PM Shibaten in Concert.
Shibaten is originally from Japan. He has been traveling around the world, throughout Asia, Oceania, Africa, North & Central America and Europe since April 1999. Each new country he visited, he collected a new sound to enhance the spiritually and uniqueness of his performance, with vocals, percussion, & didgeridoo.

Come and get in the know! A short workshop by Reed to help us identify some of the poisonous plants around Circle Sanctuary, so kids can steer clear! Also a discussion about Youth Do's and Don'ts while visiting Circle Sanctuary Land.

1 - 1:45 PM Green Man & Green Ones across Cultures & Time with Selena Fox.
Talk and slide presentation exploring imagery, lore and ritual uses of Green Man, Green Woman, and Green Spirit Faces. In the Temple Room.
2 - 3:30 PM Faerie Shaminism with Edain McCoy.
Learn about ways of working with Nature spirits and bringing their healing knowledge into our world. Through mutual respect, guided meditation, and sincere commitment to the Faery Shaman's path, the participants develop partnership with Nature. While the commitment is not for everyone, most find it a worthy goal. Spontaneous healings and other phenomena are part of this path. In the Temple Room.
2 - 3:30 PM Project D.O.R.K. (Youth) with BillieJo. Come learn how to counteract bullying through poetry and art.
3:30 - 4 PM Break
4 - 5:30 PM Shamanic Healing with Didgeridoo with Shibaten.
In this meditation and healing, Shibaten will play the Didgeridoo, which has an over tone resonating with the primordial sound of Om, to enhance chakra vibration. This vibration of the Didgeridoo, will help you to increase of your own healing power. Your body is your own planet. Bring your yoga matt or blanket. Do not eat or drink alcohol before 2-3 hours of this workshop. Enjoy your journey with Didgeridoo!! In the Temple Room.
4 - 5:30 PM The Shaman Olympics (youth) with Phoenix and Billy Crow.
Come learn games that the Native Americans played to help teach them how to survive in the wild and connect with the land!

10 - 11:30 AM Empath Recognition and Support with Edain McCoy
This workshop reaches out to the empaths and possible empaths who are numerous in magickal/spiritual communities. The format is part lecture and part open discussion where feelings, experiences, and methods of coping are shared. A manuscript proposal of this collected information is making the rounds of the publishing houses and is part of a process of developing a website where empaths can connect and share.
10 - 11:30 AM Brigid's Spring Land Offering (Youth) with Phoenix & Billy Crow.
Come learn more about Ireland's Great Mother, Brigid, and learn why the Spring at Circle is so special. We will be making a large offering of flowers and bird seed for the land spirits there.
Noon - 12:30 PM Festival Closing Ritual - with Truly & Selena. Meet at Mugwort Circle.

Items to Bring

  • Stone, Crystal or rock offering for the Stone Circle.
  • Item to donate for the Raffle & Silent Auction, to benefit upkeep of the Nature Preserve facilities.
  • Ritual garb and/or brightly colored or green clothing, to wear during the ritual.
  • A large handful of one or more favorite dried herbs to burn in the ritual fire on Friday night.
  • Contribution for potluck feast to feed at least two dozen, for Saturday dinner. For details, please see our Potluck Guidelines.
  • Please help us conserve paper: bring your own cup to use for drinks at meals and other times.
  • Camping Gear: tent, sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress, flashlight, water jug, towel, biodegradable soap and shampoo, personal toiletries, sungear, raingear, insect and tick repellent.
  • A lawn chair, mat, or blanket for outdoor seating. Many activities will be outside.
  • Song, story or poem for the Bardic Circle on Saturday night. (optional)
  • Drum, rattle, or other rhythm instrument. (optional)
