Also known as Lammas or Lughnassadh, this is the ancient Celtic fire festival marking the height of Summer and the first reaping of the harvest.

    Green Spirit 2009
    FRIDAY, July 31
    10 AM Open for arrivals
    Noon - 7 PM Lammas Faire - visit booths with a variety of Pagan wares, including books, clothing and jewelry.
    Noon - 1 PM Lunch
    1 PM Honoring the Fey
    Join the Youth walk to the Fairy Shrine to honor the Fey with an offering.
    2:30 - 3:30 PM Mugwort Magic & Harvest with Selena Fox.
    Learn about the magic of Mugwort & join the harvest.
    4:00 - 5:30 PM Poetry as Liturgy with Mari Powers.
    Exploration of the power of poetry and naming to expand consciousness and activitate magical selves. Sharing of ways to channel words to shape reality and how poetry can enhance ritual. Mari will share some of the poetry that has helped shape Paganism today, including reading some of her own poems.
    Harry Potter Adventures (Youth) with Phoenix & Crow.
    Sorting Hat - learn what Hogwart's House you are in & compete in Potter Witching World Trivia Contest
    5:30 - 6:30 PM Dinner
    7:30 - 8 PM Green Spirit Welcome & Meet & Greet with Selena & Ana.
    Meet each other and learn about this festival's themes.
    8 - 9 PM Green Spirit Opening Ritual - with Selena Fox and others.
    Connect with the magic of Lammastide & the power of Circle Sanctuary land.
    9 - 10 PM Pagan Song Circle - with Mari Powers.
    Learn & share Pagan chants & songs, old and new. Mari will begin this experiential circle with some of the older songs & chants that helped enrich and shape contemporary Paganism. She will also share some new chants and include perspectives on the development of Pagan music as an artform.
    Dusk - Dawn Lammas Night Labyrinth
    Meditatively walk the candlelit Spiral Labyrinth for personal insights & transformation.

    SATURDAY, August 1
    8 - 9 AM Breakfast in Summer Kitchen
    9 AM - 7 PM Lammas Faire
    9:30 - 11 AM History & Mystery of Tarot with Mari Powers.
    This workshop is an overview of Tarot cards and Tarot divination, past and present, and will include an examination of patterns and associations with magical systems.
    The Wizard's Duel (Youth) - guided by Phoenix & Crow
    11:30 AM - 1 PM Potluck Lunch - served behind the House
    1 - 2 PM Lammas & Lughnassad Traditions: Old & New - by Selena Fox.
    Explore ways of celebrating Lammas, also known as the Celtic Fire Festival Lughnassad. Learn about associated about symbols, lore, customs, deities, chants, and rituals from the past and present that can be incorporated into future personal and group celebrations.
    2 PM Quest for the Magickal Harvest Charm (Youth) - guided by Phoenix & Crow
    2:30 - 3:45 PM Druid Ways - with Michael Doran
    4 - 5 PM Nature Walk - with Reed Cockrell.

    11 PM Shamanic Witch Night Walk (Adults) with Crow & Phoenix.
    Leave your flashlights behind and put your witch eyes on! Heighten your senses and see what the Land has to offer as we set out on the trail at night.
    Join Phoenix and Billy Crow on a Witch Walk to meet and honor the spirits of the Land

    SUNDAY, August 2

    10 - Noon Wheat Weaving Workshop - by Linda Blue Heron.
    Learn about the magic of Corn Dollies, Welsh Wheat Fans & More. Learn how to weave wheat!
    Noon - 12:30 PM Festival Closing Ritual - with Ana & Selena
    1 - 2 PM Lunch
    2 PM Cleanup and Departures
    Items to Bring
    • Stone, Crystal or rock offering for the Stone Circle.
    • Item to donate for the Raffle & Silent Auction, to benefit upkeep of the Nature Preserve facilities.
    • Ritual garb and/or brightly colored or green clothing, to wear during the ritual.
    • A large handful of one or more favorite dried herbs to burn in the ritual fire on Friday night.
    • Contribution for potluck feast to feed at least two dozen, for Saturday dinner. For details, please see our Potluck Guidelines.
    • Please help us conserve paper: bring your own cup to use for drinks at meals and other times.
    • Camping Gear: tent, sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress, flashlight, water jug, towel, biodegradable soap and shampoo, personal toiletries, sungear, raingear, insect and tick repellent.
    • A lawn chair, mat, or blanket for outdoor seating. Many activities will be outside.
    • Song, story or poem for the Bardic Circle on Saturday night. (optional)
    • Drum, rattle, or other rhythm instrument. (optional)
