Celebrate the Spring Equinox and Full Moon

at Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve
near Barneveld, Wisconsin

Come celebrate the first audacious green shoots of life coming up from the Earth! At Spring Equinox we mark the balance between light and dark, turning our faces to the waxing solar light - - turning our hearts outward to our Tribe.

Welcome Spring Events Schedule
 
10 AM:Arrivals & Setup
- Open to those who want to come early and help set the community. We will set the stage for the day.
10:30 AM:Welcome to the Land / Intro to Circle
11 AM:Ostara Spirit Braids Workshop with Blodeuwedd and Meghan

Weave your intentions for the warming year with textiles and symbols of Spring into a seasonal ritual braid to hang on your wall or place on your altar.

12:30 PM:Egg Hunt Begins - at the Maypole
1:30 PM:Egg Hunt Prizes Awarded
2 PM:Egg Rituals Workshop - by Selena Fox

Explore some ancient and contemporary ways that eggs have been used in spiritual practice. Learn how to work with eggs for healing, protection, fertility, divination, home blessing, and celebrating Spring. Bring two hardboiled eggs to work with during the workshop.

2 PM:Spring Childrens' Activities with Phoenix and Billy Crow
3:30 PM:Spring Equinox Ritual - facilitated by Georgette and others.

Weather permitting, will be held outdoors. Celebrate the arrival of Spring, connect with the greening of the Land, and align with renewal of self, community and planet.

5 PM:Potluck Feast
6:30 PM:Community Cleanup and Farewells - and arrivals for those coming to the Full Moon Circle
7 PM: Ostara Full Moon Circle with Selena, Georgette, & Bob

This evening celebration includes drumming, chanting, and meditation. Bring a drum or rattle to play, if you have one, plus a votive candle in votive glass for the altar.


Items to Bring

  • A contribution for potluck feast to feed at least two dozen people. Please see the Potluck Guidelines.
  • A hard boiled egg or egg shaped object prepared for ritual divination as instructed on the Egg Divination page.
  • A sack lunch, and snacks for the mid-day snack table.
  • Wear something green to celebrate the Spring.
  • Fresh flowers to decorate the Temple Room (we have some vases) or to leave as offerings on the land (optional)
  • A shoulder bag or knapsack for carrying items in the ritual. (optional)
  • Veggies, dip, crackers, other treats for snack table and/or a personal sack lunch for mid-day nourishment (optional)
  • A stone to donate to the Stone Circle. (optional)
  • A drum or rattle (optional)
  • A basket for gathering eggs during the egg hunt (optional)
  • Seeds for Spring planting to be blessed during the ritual. Bundle seed packets together and mark them with your name. (optional)
