Learn about the plant life at Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve.

3 pmOpening Ritual & Land Communion
After gathering together to honor the Land and bless the festival in the Opening Ritual, there will be optional individual meditations for spiritual guidance and attunement to the Land and the Circle of Nature. Kids can go on a group quest with Colleen (please bring a biodegradable offering). Facilitated by Selena Fox and others.

8 pmSacred Land Experiences Sharing Circle
This sharing circle will begin with a Community attunement to the Land. Participants will then have an opportunity to share perspectives and/or experiences with Circle Sanctuary as Sacred Land, while the speaking staff is passed. Facilitated by Selena Fox.

  • Apple Cider Making with Reed. Help make fresh cider with a manual press. Bring apples to contribute and a small container to take some home (one per person present please).
  • Spinning Demonstration with Willow and others. Try your hand at the drop spindle.
  • Honey Extraction with Don and the Bounk family, from honey comb harvested directly from bee hives. If you would like to take some home, please bring a jar and make a small donation.
  • Indian Corn Necklace & Garland Making with Theresa. Bring ears of dried Indian corn (any colors) if you have some.
  • Kid's Harvest Activities. Kids who would like to do the above activities should gather with Colleen to participate as a group.

Amy Martin will speak on the rich and profound Divine Feminine traditions of North America. She will share experiences at sacred sites and intriguing information often overlooked in conventional archeology and history. Step back to 700 CE when Mayan and Teotihuacanian Goddesses ruled Mesoamerica, and ancient people in the United States used tons of red ochre to worship the Divine Feminine in their immense temple mounds. Amy Martin is a journalist and well-known Dallas leader in Earth-centered Spirituality. She operates a holistic/spiritual email list serve and is the author of the upcoming book, Divine Mother Beneath Our Feet: Finding the Female Heart of North America's Ancient Cultures.

10 amHerbal Salve Making Workshop with Willow
After you've found the herbs, what should you do with them? Learn to make an herbal healing salve and lip balm. Willow has been an herbalist for over 15 years and is a graduate of the Rosemary Gladstar/Sage Mountain Herbal Center.

Other Information:

  • Registration: See the enclosed form for details. The overnight option is available to Wiccans, Pagans, and others with experience in Nature Spirituality. Saturday's activities are open to everyone, including the general public and media.
  • Arrivals and Departures: We are open for new arrivals on Friday from 1 pm until 8 pm and Saturday from 9 am until 4 pm. The gate may be closed during Saturday's ritual. All departures except for those doing event clean-up are by 2 pm on Sunday.
  • Event Staffing: Everyone attending the event is asked to do a work shift or two in order to contribute to the community and help staff the event. Please sign up for this at registration upon arrival.
  • Overnight Lodging: Tent camping space is available at the Sanctuary for festival participants. There is limited space for a few small (under 25 ft.) RVs (note that no hookups are available and generators cannot be used). Facilities are rustic and include portatoilets.
  • Meals: A potluck feast will be held on Saturday evening. Other meals will be provided by Circle events staff. Please bring your own specialty food if you are on a severely restricted diet.
  • Merchanting: will include a Pagan book sale to benefit the Circle Library. Other merchants will also be offering their wares.
  • Kid's Activities: Note that no childcare is available during this event and that, outside of the scheduled kid's activities, parents are responsible for being with and supervising their kids at all times.

Items to Bring:

  • Biodegrabable harvest offering (fruit, vegetables, etc.) for ritual(s).
  • Supplies for harvest activities (optional- see above).
  • Contribution for Saturday's potluck feast to feed at least two dozen. If your contribution is to be served hot, it should be in a microwave or oven reheatable dish and not require more than 10-15 minutes of reheating, otherwise, bring it in a crock pot. Contributions that do not need reheating should be ready to serve. Fruit should be pre-washed and cheese pre-sliced. There is no kitchen space to prepare or cook contributions on site, but refrigeration space is available for storage. Label contributions with ingredients and serving instructions.
  • Camping gear: tent and tarp for shade, sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress, flashlight, water jug, towel, biodegradable soap and shampoo, personal toiletries, rain gear.
  • Clothing for both hot days and cool evenings, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, insect/tick repellent. Most activities will be outside.
  • Ritual clothes, rattles or drums for adults and kids (optional).
  • Don't bring: pets, illegal drugs, friends not pre-registered.
