2005 Samhain Festival: What to Bring
Contribution for the Saturday midday Samhain potluck feast to feed at least two dozen. For details, please see our Potluck Guidelines.
Your own cup to use for drinks at meals and other times.
A lawn chair, mat, or blanket for outdoor seating. Some of the activities will be outside.
If staying overnight: weather appropriate camping gear, including tent, sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress, flashlight, water jug, towel, biodegradable soap and shampoo, personal toiletries, sungear, raingear, cold weather clothing and blankets.
Flower to give as an offering to the Dead at Friday's Cemetery Magic workshop.
Turnip and carving knife for the Turnip Carving workshop on Saturday morning.
Hand mirror and notebook and pen for the Looking into the Face of Death workshop on Saturday afternoon.
Photographs, keepsakes, and other mementos of deceased loved ones and ancestors, plus a white votive candle in a clear votive glass for the Samhain altar honoring the Dead on Saturday night.
Optional:
Pagan/magical item(s) to donate to the Raffle and/or Silent Auction, which runs from Friday through Saturday mid-afternoon. Proceeds support Circle and its services.
Stuffed animal(s) and/or children's book(s) for Reid Miller's travels to bring support to children in the US Gulf region impacted by Katrina. Please donate before he begins his program at 6 pm on Saturday.
Costume for the Witches Ball on Friday night.
Garb for Samhain Ritual on Saturday night.
Drum, rattle,or other rhythm instrument.
A stone to give away to the Stone Circle.
Small symbols of the Elements to decorate Elemental altars on Saturday night.
Dried herbs as offerings for the Land and Samhain fires.
