Challenging the Crone - Starry Each morning at 8:45 am the crones will meet in the Crone Temple of Wisdom in Crone Camp. For three consecutive days ( Mon-Tues & Wed) Crones will be given challenges to prepare them for the Croning Ritual. On Thursday we will delve into what the Goddesses that are called into the Temple represent to them over the next year. Friday the Crones will be dressed in a crown they made, a staff they decorated, and a throne they decorated to represent the wisdom of the Crone. Sustainability & Building Community - Ravenleigh & Hawk In these workshops we will discuss the efforts we have made in establishing a sustainable community here at Ravenwood. We will discuss the solar-powered, strawbale house we’ve built with a rainwater catchment system and cistern. We’ll talk about the main house that was built using salvaged materials and the compost toilet that is well vented and has been in use for 25 years. We’ll speak on the organic gardens that contain soil that was built over the last 25 years using compost! We’ll talk about the heirloom seeds, the root cellar, the fire circle, drum circle, the trails, the flowers, and more on the land! We’ll talk about our ways of building community through ritual, making wands & staffs, digging crystals, sewing ritual clothing from reclaimed fabrics, and more! We shower with rainwater and use biodegradable handmade soaps. We are trying to reach sustainability and to live with nature. We want to encourage others to live in a sustainable fashion. The Magick of the “Shakers” – Fostering Connection at the Parliament - Julee Higginbotham & River Higginbotham We wanted to energize and facilitate connection at the Parliament of the Worlds Religions (PWR), Dec. 2009. We wanted to create a Pagan community focus, open doors for dialogue with other religions and build bridges for increased understanding as a foundation for peace. From this vision emerged a magical process and the "shakers" that became the focal point of our workings.
