Fat Girls Dance: The Radical Act of Self Love - Jasmine Heretic I considered and reconsidered the title. I used it when I did this workshop with a group of college women and it evoked strong responses. But I wanted to make a point, not just for fat girls (of which I am one), but for all women: What would happen if we love ourselves fiercely and without reservation? What if we reclaim the language used to disempower women and make it our own? What if we moved like the Goddesses we are in all the worlds, not just the ones -- like PSG -- where we feel safe? Could these be revolutionary acts? I think so. And if we do it, you realize that other sisters will feel empowered and encouraged, too. We'll do a few interactive exercises and then an informal ritual to take this energy home with us. All women (biological or identified) are welcome. Some of the discussion and language may not be suitable for young teens. Intended audience: Adults and Teens |

Born of a family drum circle, the group delivers an authentic tribal and clannish feel that not only draws the audience into the music but into the moment and family as well. Their rhythmic groove naturally inspires audience participation which has become a staple of their performances. From the beginning the band has embraced its Celtic heritage and meshed the traditional music of Scotland, Ireland and Great Britain with the pulsepounding heartbeat of the drums to produce unique versions of old favorites like "Danny Boy", "Whiskey In A Jar", "Loch Lomond" and others. The group's eclectic nature also incorporates a rock, blues, new age and even punk edge into their repertoire of material to further widen their appeal. Original music such as the Celtic mythology of their namesake song "Tuatha de Danaan" and "Pipers Pay" as well as mainstream compositions such as "The Sky Is Falling" and "Granny's Bedtime Tonic" marks Tuatha Dea as a creative force. Vampires Are Us: Power and the Planet - Margot Adler Starting as a meditation on mortality after the illness and death of my late husband, I've now read more than 210 vampire novels - from teen to adult, from detective, to romance, from gothic to modern. "Every society creates the vampire it needs," wrote Nina Auerbach. England in the 19th century had the largest ports in the world, so Stoker created his version of Dracula in part, because of England’s own fear of outsiders, disease, and immigration. In the last ten years, but possibly going back to Dark Shadows, our society has created the 'struggling to be moral' vampire: Spike and Angel from Buffy, Bill Compton, Eric Northman and Jessica from True Blood, Edward, Alice and all the Cullens from Twilight, Damon and Stefan from the Vampire Diaries, Mick St. John, Henry Fitzroy - we could go on and on. They are all struggling to be moral despite being predators. As are we. Our blood is oil; our prey is the planet. The human obsession with power and the fate of the earth, and issues of choice and identity give vampires their current traction, even more so than sex. Intended audience: Adults and Teens |

How do you bring the magic? Join us to learn facilitation skills focusing on inclusivity, authenticity, and deep presence. To engage participants into feeling the magic, we as leaders must feel the magic first. We’ll explore ways modern Pagan rituals can help attendees connect to the divine, the deep, and sacred. To engage a group’s participation, we first must connect to our personal passion. We’ll bring the elements, deities, and other parts of ritual to life by calling them forth from experience, imagination, and your own personal connection. Through authenticity, we move from unengaging rituals into intimate and deeply impactful experiences for all. Do you hear the call of compelling, potent ritual? Intended audience: Adults |
West African Rhythm - Moribayassa! - Laurie Blue Heron Moribayassa is a very special rhythm played in Malinke villages of Guinea, West Africa as part of an adult woman's rite of passage. Come hear the story of how this life event is celebrated by the community, learn the interlocking parts that make up this beautiful rhythm, and sing the song together. If we really get rocking, we'll try out a few solo phrases! Many of these traditional parts are also very adaptable to play along with other rhythms you might hear at Bonfire Circle. Some instruments are available to borrow. No drumming experience is necessary - there are parts for all levels of play. Our whole village is welcome - join us! Intended audience: Adults and Teens |
West Side Story Witches; How Gang Wars Destroy Community - Crystal Blanton Any growing community can create fertile ground for dissension and misunderstandings. This will then become the soil that feeds what can develop into Witch wars and destructive dynamics. Our ability to sustain the Pagan community will rely largely on our ability to work within the confines of budding dynamics in a community that is growing rapidly and often without a lot of resources. This workshop will discuss ways to identify potential situations that could cultivate issues within the community at large and potential solutions for resolution. Intended audience: Adults |
Witchin in the Kitchen--Spell Stars for Magickal Use - Melissa Murry Using natural ingredients and your own creativity, you can create your own Spell Stars to use in your everyday magickal practices. Easy to make with children on the Sabbats or for a specific working, you'll be happy to add Spell Stars to your magickal tool box! All participants will make one Spell Star and handouts with directions will be provided. Intended audience: Adults and Teens |
Women and the God - Kathryn Hinds For many women in modern Paganism, the God is a problem—or at least a puzzle. After escaping centuries of patriarchal religion and embracing the Goddess, how do we now relate to the male aspect of Deity? Or do we? How important is the God to Pagan women? This workshop is a place to explore and discuss such questions and related gender issues in modern Pagan life. Intended audience: Adults |
Writing with the Elements - Salvatore Marici This workshop will provide authors with a tool to discover something new or something they did not know how to articulate. Authors communicate to readers, but as authors, we must begin writing poems without knowing where we are headed with them in order to discover something about ourselves. As observers of the Elements, we will use nouns, adjectives and verbs in a writing exercise to express Fire, Air, Water and Earth, which evoke the Spirit. In the second part of the workshop, under the Spirit’s guidance we will continue to write, which will begin to show how our interactions with the Elements influence us and, perhaps, will even show something else. At the end of the workshop, each author will have a start of a poem that (if reworked and with a good muse) will show a discovery. Bring a notebook and pen. Intended audience: Adults and Teens |
