Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration


Pagans from Circle Sanctuary and other groups were among those taking part in the third annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration on Sunday, November 23 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Program included:

  • Keynote on "Native American Perspectives on Thanksgiving" by Patty Loew, Associate Professor, University of Wisconsin-Madison, award-winning documentary film producer and author, and member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe.
  • Music, Dance, Prayers, Readings, & other Sacred Expressions of Thanksgiving by those of a variety of spiritual traditions and communities in the greater Madison, Wisconsin area , including Tibetan Buddhist dancers, Pagan Thanksgiving reflections by Selena Fox & chant by the Solstice Singers, Muslim readings, songs by The Crossing, Quaker silent meditation, Hindu dancers, and others.

This multicultural and interfaith event was sponsored by the Greater Madison Interreligious Association (GMIA) and more than two dozen churches, spiritual groups, and other organizations in the Madison area.
