Miliraty Media on Pentacle for Vets

An update on the Pentacle for Veterans quest is in US military media.

"Wiccan Widow threatens to sue over Memorial plaque" is a lead story today on the front page of website of the Stars and Stripes, the newspaper which serves the US military around the world (http://www.stripes.com). It also is appearing in print in various editions of the newspaper today and tomorrow.

This article is a follow-up to the article which appeared on March 11, 2006.

In today's article, Roberta Stewart expressed her frustration with VA not yet finishing its approval of the addition of the Pentacle to the list of emblems of belief that can be inscribed on VA issued memorial markers, headstones, and plaques: "I am tired of waiting for final approval," she said. "It doesn't take this long to review an application."

Also interviewed was Chaplain Bill Chrystal, a retired military chaplain and United Church of Christ minister. He supports the approval of the Pentacle and said: "What the VA has done is the very things that the founding fathers were opposed to.... It's not the government's job to second guess the value of a religion."
