Program Schedule:

10am - 12pm Imbolc Activities
Make Brigit Crosses with Gwyn, commune with Brigid's Spring & the Land, visit the Resources shop
12pm Brigit Tale
Jean of Storylore tells a story about the Celtic Goddess Brigit
1pm - 3pm Celtic Culture
Learn about ancient and contemporary Celtic culture, philosophy, and spirituality from Eric, Senior Druid of Sun Raven Grove in Madison
3:30pm Imbolc Ritual
Candlelight ritual honoring Brigit as Goddess of inspiration, crafts, and healing. Includes blessings of candles and Brigid's Crosses. Facilitated by Selena Fox and others.
5:30pm Potluck Feast
7:30 pm Departures & Clean-up

Pre-registration Required:

Please register by February 4. Call (608) 924-2216 or email (events@circlesanctuary.org) your registration to the Circle office and include the full name, address, phone number, and email of each person attending, and indicate if you need directions. Suggested minimum contribution for the day is $20/adult, $10/youth (ages 5-17), payable at the door via cash or check. We plan to hold the event regardless of weather, but if severe weather occurs, call the Circle office the morning of the festival to talk to our staff or hear a message regarding the status of the event.

Items to Bring:

  • If you can, wear something white to celebrate the season.
  • For Brigit Cross making: 1 dozen 12 inch pipe cleaners or other natural material such as wheat (optional).
  • For Ritual: A white, dripless candle to light, plus a candle holder that holds it securely.
  • For Ritual: Candles to be blessed (optional). Mark your candles in such a way that they can be easily identified by you at the end of the ritual (ie., tie them together with a ribbon or cloth and include your name on a tag).
  • For Ritual: Brigid's Wheels or Crosses for your home to be blessed during the ritual (optional).
  • For Ritual: A rattle or drum to play (optional).
  • A healing ribbon for each request for healing for loved ones and/or self (optional).
  • A jar with a lid or other container for collecting water from Brigid's Spring (optional).
  • Clothing appropriate to the weather if spending time outdoors.
  • Bird seed donations for Circle's annual food drive for the wild birds at the Sanctuary (optional).
  • Personal snacks and/or a sack lunch for mid-day nourishment (optional).
