    SATURDAY, April 17
    10 am Open for Arrivals
    10:30 am Welcome
    Executive Director Selena Fox gives an introduction to Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve and also speaks about Circle Sanctuary's Green Cemetery project.
    11 am Tamarack Trees talk by Karl Schroeder
    Learn about Tamaracks and the Tamarack Grove at Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve.
    11:30 am Tamarack Tree Planting guided by Karl Schroeder and others
    Join in planting more trees in the Tamarack Grove.
    12:30 pm Lunch - Potluck Snack table & self-guided Nature walks
    1 pm Bluebird Preservation by Florence Edwards-Miller
    Join Florence for an interactive seminar on one of the oldest North American symbols of spring - the bluebird. Bluebirds have a special place in native and colonial American folklore and used to be one of the most common eastern birds. Now their survival is threatened by habitat loss and invasive species. Learn what you can do to help save the bluebirds and about bluebird conservation at the Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve. Concludes with a nest-box dedication for the Circle bluebird trail.
    2 pm Celebrating Earth Day's 40th Anniversary
    Join in a sharing of some memories of 40 years of Earth Day celebrations and environmental work. As part of this discussion, Selena Fox will talk about her work with the first Earth Day, on April 22, 1970 which included organizing an environmental teach-in at the College of William & Mary where she was doing undergraduate studies.
    2:30 pm Encounters with Raptors with Vickie Jordan
    Meet a Peregrine Falcon, Red Tail Hawk, & Saw Whet Owl in this wildlife presentation by Raptor educator Vickie Jordan. Vickie Jordan of Dodgeville has been among those helping with rehabilitation and environmental education work at Raptor Ridge in Ridgeway, Wisconsin.
    3:15 pm Earth Day Ceremony
    Celebrate our connections with the Circle of Nature with words, meditation and music. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors.
    4:30 pm Prairie Restoration & Burn
    Following the ceremony, join Reed Cockrell in a restorative burn of Circle Sanctuary's restored prairie.
    5 pm Potluck Feast
    6:30 pm Cleanup and farewells
